Summary/Objective
The Designer/Drafter is primarily responsible for creating production drawings for natural gas line heaters, industrial direct contact water heaters, glycol dehydration units, and other products. This will include both fabrication and assembly detail drawings. Direction will be given from the Project Engineer to design a drawing package to meet the customers’ requirements for each job. In some cases, drawings will originate from standards and in others they will be based on previous designs. It will be the designer/drafter’s responsibility to take the engineering handoff package and with minimal instructions create a production handoff package for each project.

Essential Functions

Create General Arrangement, Fabrication, and Assembly for assign Projects using both 3D and 2D CAD.

Create and maintain parts, their part numbers, descriptions, and specifications.

Manage Engineering Change tasks within the PLM & ERP systems.

Generate drawing packages for production and service of projects.

Interface with engineering, production, and purchasing personnel for Engineering Changes.

Generate CNC files for the burn table using CAM software.

Work Environment

This job primarily operates in a professional office environment. This role uses standard office equipment. Occasional trips to the manufacturing floor and warehouse for observation and research are also required.

When in the manufacturing facility, all employees are required to wear personal protective equipment to include/hearing protection, and safety glasses with side shields. Protective toe boots are not required when an employee is in designated walkways in the plant. 

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing duties of this job, the person in this position frequently communicates with employees and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. The employee must constantly remain stationary for long periods of time, while operating a computer and other office machinery. This position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access supply cabinets and operate office productivity machinery, such as a copy machine.

The employee might occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds.

On occasion, may be required to visit the shop that is a non-temperature-controlled environment with loud noises, dust, dirt, and metal particles that are usually associated with metal fabrication shops.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional hours over 40 may be required as job duties demand.

Travel

No travel is required for this position.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

Technical Certificate or an AA degree in drafting preferred.

3 to 5 years of experience in drafting for manufacturing.

1 to 2 years working knowledge of SOLIDWORKS preferred.

Familiar with metal fabrication and welding procedures.

Possession of strong personal organizational skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work both independently and with a team on assigned tasks.

PLC Technician

The PLC Programmer creates logic code for programmable devices, assembles and installs electrical control panel assemblies as well as device wiring and Point to Point.

Testing & Service Support Technician

The Testing and Service Support Technician is responsible for conducting thorough testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment.

QA Inspector

The Quality Assurance Inspector has the responsibility to inspect, accept, or reject work performed in a particular discipline in compliance with applicable codes and specifications.

Assembly Tech

The Assembly Technician I is responsible for making sure all parts are assembled correctly before passing on to final test.

Industrial Painter

The Painter is responsible for painting OGI units before and after work is complete to ensure is ready for shipment.

Warehouse Clerk

The Warehouse Clerk receives, stores, and distributes material, tools, equipment, and products within the warehouse, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all job functions.

Warehouse Manager

The Warehouse Manager, organizes and monitors the receiving, storage and distribution of all items received either from suppliers or production shops.

Technical Sales Representative

The Painter is responsible for painting OGI units before and after work is complete to ensure is ready for shipment.

Warehouse Clerk

The Warehouse Clerk receives, stores, and distributes material, tools, equipment, and products within the warehouse, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all job functions.

Warehouse Manager

The Warehouse Manager, organizes and monitors the receiving, storage and distribution of all items received either from suppliers or production shops, ensuring a smooth and consistent operation so parts and supplies are located and distributed to proper departments in an effective and efficient manner as needed to satisfy internal and external customer requirements.
