Summary/Objective
OGI Process Equipment is looking for a Technical Writer to create operating and maintenance manuals, service manuals, and other technical materials for OGI’s product lines. This position will require collaboration with Engineering, Sales, Production, QA, and others to develop materials describing the overall operation of equipment, detailed instructions to troubleshoot or repair units, creating illustrations from photos, CAD models, drawings, or other line art and managing the updates, revisions, and translations of all materials. The successful candidate must have strong communication skills and the ability to juggle multiple deadline driven projects.
Essential Functions

-Prepare, review, revise, and maintain technical documents, including operation and maintenance manuals, service manuals, and troubleshooting and repair instructions.
-Gather and analyze technical and product information from various sources to document new or changing product functionality.
-Write, format, edit, review, and proof procedural and technical information for technical and nontechnical users.
-Assist in planning, scheduling, and tracking documentation work to meet product release dates and deliverables.
-Maintain a library of application documentation, cataloging it for internal and/or external use.
-Publish and maintain templates for written documentation produced by others to ensure a consistent "look and feel."
-Work closely with Engineering, QA, Service, and Sales to ensure user feedback and operational scenarios are communicated and covered in manual development.
-Gather information by working with product designers, engineers, and personnel in marketing, sales, quality, training, and production.
-Observe and operate OGI equipment as required for operational understanding.
-Schedule conference time between engineers, designers, and/or production
-Schedule and conduct reviews of product manuals well in advance of shipping deadlines.
-Manage updates and revisions to all materials.
-Conceptualize, plan, create/edit 3D-models, line art, vector drawings, or renderings for inclusion into projects.

Work Environment
This job primarily operates in a professional office environment. This role uses standard office equipment. When in the manufacturing facility, all employees are required to wear personal protective equipment to include/hearing protection, and safety glasses with side shields. Protective toe footwear is not required when employee is in designated walkways in the plant.
Physical Demands

-The employee constantly must remain stationary for extended periods of time, while operating a computer and other office machinery.
-This position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access filing cabinets and operate office productivity machinery, such as a copy machine and laminator.
The employee might occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds.
-On occasion, may be required to visit the shop that is a non-temperature-controlled environment with loud noises, dust, dirt, and metal particles that are usually associated with metal fabrication shops.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.

No travel is required for this position.
Required Education and Experience
-Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a technical field with a focus on English, writing, or communications.
-Experience in creating documentation for audiences with various levels of technical skill.
-Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
-Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Technical Writing and Illustration development.
-Experience with following software packages– Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Office.
-Ability to read diagrams, drawings, schematics, and sketches is essential.

The Fitter Welder I is responsible for fitting parts for OGI units.
The Stainless Welder is responsible for fitting stainless steel parts for OGI units.
The Code Fitter Welder is responsible for fitting and welding ASME code x-ray coils.
The Fabrication Lead is a working lead position responsible for performing fabrication duties while providing support to a team of fabricators.
The Plate Roll Operator operates rolling machine to bend metal plates using blueprints, templates, and knowledge of geometry and physical properties of metal
The PLC Programmer creates logic code for programmable devices, assembles and installs electrical control panel assemblies as well as device wiring and Point to Point.
The Testing and Service Support Technician is responsible for conducting thorough testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment.
The Quality Assurance Inspector has the responsibility to inspect, accept, or reject work performed in a particular discipline in compliance with applicable codes and specifications.
The Assembly Technician I is responsible for making sure all parts are assembled correctly before passing on to final test.
The Painter is responsible for painting OGI units before and after work is complete to ensure is ready for shipment.
The Warehouse Clerk receives, stores, and distributes material, tools, equipment, and products within the warehouse, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all job functions.
The Warehouse Manager, organizes and monitors the receiving, storage and distribution of all items received either from suppliers or production shops.
